The NYSE adminstration includes top-tier musicians who reside in Japan.  these musicians are active musicians around Tokyo, and all across the globe.  the nyse japan staff serve as orchestra members during our yearly Japan tours, and also assist maintaining the day-to-day logistical needs of the orchestra.  OUR DIRECTOR, MAESTRO MAMORU TAKAHARA, HAS HAND-PICKED THESE MUSICIANS AND We are happy to introduCE THEM to you here:


Hailing from Tokyo, MAKIKO ITO, is an active violinist in the Tokyo Metropolitan area.  Ms.Ito serves as a violinist and Orchestra Manager for the NYSE. 

As a chamber musician and orchestra player, she has recorded with various artists in U.S and Japan and has appeared on TV shows, TV commercials, and Theater Acts in the U.S, Asia and all across Japan. She has appeared with artists such as Boyz II Men, Michael Bubble, and various artists in Japan. She has performed with orchestras in Japan, such as the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.  She studied at Toho Gakuen Music High School in Tokyo, and the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.   Her violin teachers include Hiroko Suzuki, Kenji Kobayashi, Yoshio Unno, Hyo Kang, and Peter Winograd.  Her chamber music training includes collaboration with Lucie Robert, and the members of American String Quartet.  She has attended master classes of Robert Mann, Sheryl Staples, and has attended Aspen Music Festival.  Ms.Ito has been the orchestra manager and a violinist with the New York Symphonic Ensemble since 2004. 


TAKUTO MATSUNOKI was born in Tokyo, Japan. He began playing violin when he was 4-years old.  After passing examination, he twice joined the IMIC summer music institution and received diplomas in 2004 and 2005.  In 2012, he won the Japan International League of Artists' audition, and was chosen to perform at the gala concert at Suginami Public Hall.  That same year, he was a member of a trio that placed 2nd in the Tchaikovsky Piano Trio competition.   As a founding member of the Schelm String Quartet in 2014, he has held concerts and masterclasses across the world (including several cities in Indonesia) which are supported by the Japan Foundation and Embassy of Japan.  As an active freelance musician in Japan, he frequently works as a substitute musician with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
Mr.Matsunoki is s student of Takashi Shimizu, Masaoki(Mike) Inoue, Masayuki Kino, Toshiro Yokoyama, Sharon Eng, and studied chamber music with Eiji Arai and Mazumi Tanamura.  He completed his graduate and postgraduate studies at the Tokyo College of Music in 2013 and 2015, respectively.  Mr.Matsunoki has been a member of the New York Symphonic Ensemble both as a fellowship member and staff member since 2013.
